Available from 26/04/2026. Every year hundreds of amazing people take on our Challenge Events raising vital funds to help pets in need. But you don’t have to be a marathon runner to make a difference – we need your help too! The Community and Events team needs enthusiastic volunteers to join our cheer teams at events such as the London Marathon and the Oxford Half. You’ll be an important part of our support team, encouraging our fundraisers at key mass‑participation events throughout the year.

What you will be doing

  • Attending mass participation events such as the London Marathon and Oxford Half
  • Setup and takedown of flags and banners (all items will be provided)
  • Cheering and encouraging Blue Cross participants as they take part in their challenge
  • Be a part of creating an amazing atmosphere
  • Acting as an ambassador for Blue Cross at all times during the event
