We are expanding our leadership team and are looking for an experienced Registered Manager to take the lead in one of our homes. What You'll Be Doing
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead a team of therapeutic support workers to provide exceptional care in a nurturing environment.
- Adopt a positive culture, ensuring all staff align with Blue Compass Care's mission, values, and policies.
- Oversee staff training and continuous professional development, ensuring compliance with all mandatory training requirements.
- Set clear expectations, conduct team meetings, and provide strong leadership in a highly regulated environment.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations, aiming for 'Good' or 'Outstanding' ratings.
- Prepare for Ofsted inspections, implementing best practices to maintain exceptional standards.
- Develop and review policies, procedures, and documentation to keep the home running efficiently.
- Implement quality assurance processes, including regular audits and action plans for improvement.
- Care & Support Planning
- Develop individualised care plans that promote resilience, personal growth, and life skills.
- Conduct Key Worker sessions to support young people in achieving their goals.
- Encourage young people to develop independence and confidence through structured support.
- Lead Children in Care (CIC) Reviews, working alongside social workers, external agencies, and families.
- Safeguarding & Risk Management
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the safety and well-being of all young people.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks, ensuring all safeguarding measures are followed.
- Respond effectively to safeguarding concerns, escalating issues when necessary.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments for activities, outings, and daily routines.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration
- Build and maintain strong relationships with social workers, advocates, and external agencies.
- Represent Blue Compass Care positively in professional meetings, ensuring young people's needs are met.
- Attend multi-agency meetings, advocating for the best interests of the young people in your care.
- Operational Oversight & Housekeeping
- Ensure the home is well-maintained, safe, and adheres to all health and safety standards.
- Support young people in developing household skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and budgeting.
- Oversee financial budgeting, expenditure, and resource management within the home.
- Ensure all paperwork, reports, and logs are completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Service Manager in a children's residential home
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
- Experience managing a team in a highly regulated environment
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards this)
- Passion for delivering high-quality, therapeutic care for Looked After Children
- Ability to lead by example, inspire teams, and drive continuous improvement.
