Promote good playground behaviour by instructing children when their behaviour is not acceptable (e.g., too noisy, lack of courtesy to others, playing too roughly, use of inappropriate language, moving to an out-of-bounds area).
Reinforce acceptable behaviour such as walking on the path and staying off the grass when wet.
Assist children in resolving social and friendship issues.
Use sound behaviour management strategies to address behaviour issues, following the guidelines in the School\’s Behaviour Management and Exclusions Policy.
Report social, friendship, and behavioural issues to relevant staff: Head of Prep, Head of Pre-Prep, Form Tutors, or Class Teachers.
Ensure the safe and responsible use of playground equipment, encouraging good care of it, especially putting it away after breaktimes.
Ensure children leave the playground quickly and sensibly at the end of break to be ready for lessons.
Refer first aid issues to the School Matron or trained first aider.
Develop respectful and authoritative relationships with children, exercising loyalty to the Headmaster and the School, and upholding its traditions and ethos.
Support the Headmaster and Senior Leadership Team in providing a happy, secure, safe, and stimulating environment for children to reach their full potential.
Assist the Headmaster in fostering parental involvement and keeping parents informed about school policies, the curriculum, and other important matters, in collaboration with other senior colleagues.
Comply with all regulatory requirements, including those specified in the DfE document \’Keeping Children Safe in Education\’ and \’Working Together to Safeguard Children\’.
Adhere to the School\’s policies on First Aid, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, and Child Protection, taking appropriate action as necessary.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with governors, colleagues, potential and current parents, agencies, and children.
Take responsibility for personal professional development by attending INSET courses, relevant training, and conferences.

Position details: Monday – Friday, Term Time only, 9:30 am – 1:05 pm, starting September/October 2025. Salary: £14 per hour. Interviews scheduled for the week commencing 8th September 2025.
