Responsibilities
- Ensure operations comply with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) and Environmental Control regulations and statutory requirements.
- Implement, monitor, and maintain safety measures aligned with the Workplace Health and Safety Act to prevent workplace hazards.
- Enforce all safety requirements and internal safety rules to uphold a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify safety risks and execute corrective actions promptly.
- Deliver safety awareness training, programs, and initiatives to educate and engage employees on safe practices.
- Compile and maintain accurate safety reports, records, and conduct daily safety inspections to track compliance.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned to support safety and operational objectives.
Required Competencies and Certifications
- Possess relevant safety certification such as Advanced Certificate in WSH.
- Minimum 3 years of tunneling experience in the construction industry.
- Familiarity with statutory requirements related to the WSH Act and other safety regulations.
- Availability to work 6 days a week, including weekends and public holidays when required.
Preferred Competencies and Qualifications
- Experience in tunneling projects, preferably MRT projects, is highly advantageous.
