Position Overview
The Project Director is responsible for leading large-scale construction and marine engineering projects from inception to completion. This role ensures that project objectives—scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance—are consistently met. The Project Director will serve as the main point of leadership for stakeholders, clients, consultants, and project teams, ensuring smooth execution aligned with the company’s corporate standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership & Strategy
- Provide overall direction for major construction or marine infrastructure projects (e.g., reclamation, port development, coastal works).
- Define project execution strategies, resource plans, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure alignment with organisational goals, contractual commitments, and client expectations.
- Stakeholder & Client Management
- Act as the primary contact for clients, consultants, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, resolve issues proactively, and maintain strong relationships to support project success.
- Lead progress meetings and ensure transparency through regular reporting.
- Budget & Cost Control
- Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, and risk management.
- Approve major procurement decisions, variations, and contractual claims.
- Ensure cost‑efficient project delivery without compromising safety or quality.
- Project Planning & Execution
- Lead multidisciplinary teams including engineering, planning, HSE (Health, Safety & Environment), QA/QC, and site operations.
- Approve work schedules, construction methodologies, and technical solutions.
- Ensure optimal use of manpower, equipment, and materials.
- Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Uphold Company’s stringent safety standards, promoting a zero‑harm culture.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore regulatory bodies (e.g., BCA, MOM, PUB, MPA) and relevant industry standards.
- Monitor QA/QC processes to ensure deliverables meet required specifications.
- Contract & Risk Management
- Review contractual obligations and manage potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead the resolution of contractual issues, claims, and disputes.
- Ensure timely management of change orders, delays, and unforeseen events.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Guide, mentor, and develop senior managers and project teams.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- A master’s degree or Chartered Engineer status (PE, CEng) is an advantage.
- Experience
- Minimum 15–20 years of relevant experience in large-scale civil, marine, or infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record managing projects exceeding SGD 200M in contract value.
- Strong experience with Singapore construction regulations and authorities.

- Strong financial and contractual acumen.
- Deep understanding of marine construction techniques (reclamation, dredging, foundation works) preferred.
