An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Economic Development Officer to help shape and deliver key sector and cluster growth initiatives within a forward-thinking local authority. You will play a pivotal role in driving the next phase of a borough-wide economic development strategy, designed to foster innovation, support creative enterprise, and promote inclusive growth for local communities. This dynamic position sits within the Economic Development & Growth team and supports the Strategic Lead - Sectors & Clusters in coordinating vital programmes and partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Lead on delivery of key sector interventions and projects within the borough's Cultural and Economic Growth strategies.
- Coordinate activity for the Creative Enterprise Zone (CEZ), supporting creative businesses, workspace operators, and industry partners.
- Oversee elements of affordable workspace delivery, including working with Planning teams on Section 106 contributions.
- Manage grant programmes, monitor budgets, and engage with stakeholders across regeneration, planning, and local enterprise.
- Strengthen partnerships across the public, private, and community sectors to nurture growth in the borough's creative and innovation clusters.
- Monitor performance frameworks, evaluate outcomes, and report on strategic initiatives to senior officers and partners.
- Ensure alignment between local policy, planning, and delivery to meet the needs of the creative economy and borough-wide growth objectives.
