Integrated Sexual Health Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a substantive Integrated Sexual Health Nurse Specialist to join the Essex Integrated Sexual Health Service. The post is based in Basildon with satellite clinics in Rayleigh and Canvey Island.

Role overview: Work as part of the Integrated Sexual Health Service across South Essex, delivering contraception and sexual health care in a community setting, in partnership with Secondary Care and Primary Care. The post offers development and enhancement of clinical expertise and innovative practice within this field.

Location and hours: Basildon (with attendance at Rayleigh and Canvey Island clinics). Agenda for Change Pay Band 6. 37.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based sexual health care within the integrated service as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills with service users and all health care staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality of service user information at all times.
  • Work within legal and professional guidelines, including Nursing and Midwifery Council requirements and safeguarding procedures.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training and teaching programmes for healthcare professionals and clients where appropriate.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with current registration and in receipt of a current ENB 901 or ENB 8103 or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary teamwork in an NHS environment.
  • Skills in assessment and treatment of clients and the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
