Who we are

The Blair Partnership is a literary and entertainment agency. We offer our clients a broad range of services including rights management, client representation and franchise management. As part of those services, we help to manage several companies on behalf of our client J.K. Rowling. Those companies include Pottermore and Bronte. These businesses benefit from shared resources and expertise provided by The Blair Partnership, but they are run by their own leaders.

There are three core pillars to The Blair Partnership’s business activity:

  • Franchise Management - which encompasses brand & franchise vision and strategy, creative strategy & direction, product development, brand management & comms for the Wizarding World franchise.
  • Client Management - we represent our clients’ literary and entertainment rights portfolios and pursue commercial opportunities for our clients through deal making in the UK, US and internationally, partner management and backlist rights management.
  • Governance & support - we provide governance and support to companies owned by J.K. Rowling and Neil Blair. As part of that support, we cultivate close collaboration & strong, cohesive working practices between all the businesses.

What you’ll be doing

  • Enable a high quality, diverse & inclusive pool of candidates to be recruited, onboarded and set up to succeed within our business.
  • Deliver an excellent candidate experience in line with our company culture and values.

Responsibilities

  • Owning end-to-end hiring for roles, at all levels, across multiple companies.
  • Building and maintaining a strong, diverse talent pipeline.
  • Partnering with hiring managers to ensure that all roles have a clear and accurate JD, that the role is properly benchmarked and that the team have the necessary approval and paperwork completed to hire.
  • Building hiring capability across the business by training and guiding hiring managers to recruit confidently, consistently and inclusively.
  • Proactively sourcing candidates using a variety of channels (job boards, social media, direct sourcing and internal talent pools).
  • Working with recruitment partners for specialist roles.
  • Designing structured, inclusive interview processes and ensuring that all candidates have a consistent and positive experience.
  • Using data, insight and market knowledge to influence hiring decisions.
  • Managing and negotiating offer processes, ensuring a seamless handover to HR and supporting with ad hoc admin as required.
  • Acting as the company brand ambassador, delivering an outstanding candidate experience at all stages.
  • Partnering with our Senior Social Media Manager to ensure all external-facing content and candidate assets (from social media posts to candidate packs) are on-brand and aligned with our internal guidelines.
  • Managing and maintaining accurate data within our ATS and recruitment reporting.
  • Overhauling and maintaining our PSL to ensure we have competitive rates and receive an excellent service from our network.
  • Proactively understanding the talent market by researching competitors, building networks and attending industry talent events.
  • Continuously improving how we hire, including leveraging AI and automation where possible.
  • Contributing to wider Talent projects with the HR team.

What we’re looking for

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in a recruitment or talent acquisition role.
  • A strong understanding of where and how to find high-quality candidates.
  • Ability to manage multiple roles in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A team player with excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), organised with meticulous attention to detail.
  • A positive, solutions‑focused mindset.
  • Confident and clear, with the ability to create an excellent candidate experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience in the publishing or creative industries.
  • An understanding of broader HR processes.
