Position Overview: This position will be a key member of the Legal and Compliance team playing an important role in continuing to build and develop the function to genuine “Best-in-Class” standards. The Vice President will be part of the EMEA Distribution Compliance team, which serves as the primary day‑to‑day counsel to the Institutional Client Solutions (ICS) and Private Wealth teams across all business units within Blackstone with respect to distributing products and marketing materials to investors.

Responsibilities:

  • Review marketing materials, due diligence responses, investor communications, and other reporting related materials from a legal, regulatory and compliance perspective.
  • Review and advise on fund marketing and distribution related matters, helping to assess and manage regulatory and business risks.
  • Act as local adviser and EMEA subject matter expert for the Private Wealth team, principally in Europe and also globally.
  • Assist in maintaining internal policies and procedures and current regulatory guidance with respect to marketing.
  • Develop educational materials and trainings for Private Wealth business professionals regarding EMEA marketing and fundraising regulations.
  • Provide jurisdictional guidance on AIFMD, MiFID, CBDF, SFDR and other European marketing regimes to team members covering other Blackstone business units.
  • Assist in assessing current and prospective regulatory risk through industry interaction and research.
  • Assist with other day‑to‑day legal and compliance matters as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 6‑9 years of experience at a compliance consultancy or alternative asset management firm in a relevant marketing/distribution compliance role.
  • Knowledge of alternative investments.
  • Understanding of AIFMD, MiFID and other European marketing regulations (very desirable).
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, drafting and organizational skills.
  • Excellent judgement, confident and diplomatic communication.
  • Ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
  • Ability to interpret legal and business terms.
  • Substantial initiative, creativity and drive.

Licenses / Certifications:

Depending on the position, may be required to obtain certain securities licenses if engaged in client‑facing activities such as attendance at client meetings, marketing Blackstone funds to new or existing clients, supervising or training securities‑licensed employees, structuring or creating Blackstone funds/products, or advising on marketing plans prepared by a sales team.
