Location:

Based in the picturesque market town of Helmsley, this role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of one of North Yorkshire's most scenic and historic locations. Surrounded by the stunning landscapes of the North York Moors National Park, Helmsley provides an ideal base while supporting sites across the region. Occasional travel will be required to nearby locations including Northallerton, Guisborough, and Whitby, allowing you to experience the diverse character of North Yorkshire.

Responsibilities:

As a Maintenance Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our facilities are safe, comfortable, and in excellent condition. Your responsibilities include daily checks on boilers, electrical systems, and fire safety equipment, along with inspecting and replacing light bulbs and securing fire doors. You’ll conduct regular inspections of roofs, gutters, and walkways to address hazards and maintain outdoor areas, including gardening and external housekeeping. You’ll handle planned maintenance tasks like painting and grouting, as well as unplanned repairs. Basic plumbing, electrical, and joinery skills are essential, along with a focus on compliance through ladder checks, fire alarm tests, and utility readings. A proactive, can‑do attitude will help you confidently tackle varied tasks with care and precision.
