The Black Pig is looking for a hands-on, motivated Duty Manager to join our team at Borough Market. Known for our properly sourced ingredients, Big Green Egg BBQs and seriously delicious sandwiches, we pride ourselves on quality, consistency and excellent customer service.
As Duty Manager, you’ll support the smooth day-to-day running of the business, leading the team on shift, maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness and food safety, and ensuring every customer has a great experience. You’ll help manage stock, support staff training and development, oversee shift organisation and ensure company procedures are followed.
We’re looking for someone who leads by example, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, takes pride in the details and brings energy, initiative and a genuine passion for great food and hospitality.
Daytime hours only.
Responsibilities
- Ordering based on forecasted turnover
- Weekly and monthly stock takes
- Training & developing staff
- Leading and motivating the team, directing supervisors.
- Maintaining food safety standards
- Maintaining cleanliness and health & safety - delegating to team members and upholding the standard
- Responsible for EHO visits in the case the general manager is not present
- Quality control of product
- Maintaining procedures as implemented by operations manager
- Hitting turnover targets by driving sales and optimising team workflow
- Ensure customer experience is at the forefront
- Organising shift cover for illness/absence
