The Role
As a Casual Minibus Driver, you will be responsible for driving the school minibus safely and efficiently, ensuring the welfare and comfort of students at all times. You will represent the School within the local community and help maintain our excellent reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely drive the school minibus in accordance with all road traffic regulations.
- Ensure the safety, comfort and wellbeing of all passengers.
- Carry out daily and weekly vehicle safety checks.
- Report vehicle defects, faults, incidents and accidents promptly.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and roadworthiness of school vehicles.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage and checks.
- Plan alternative routes when necessary and communicate any transport changes appropriately.
- Support staff with student behaviour management where required.
- Adhere to school policies, health and safety procedures, and safeguarding requirements.
- Undertake mandatory training, including safeguarding training, and any additional training required by the School.
What We Are Looking For
Essential Requirements
- A current, clean and valid driving licence.
- D1 unrestricted, or PSV licence, or D1 restricted entitlement (car licence obtained before 1 January 1997 will be considered).
- A pleasant, approachable and professional manner.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with students, staff and parents.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability, trustworthiness and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Commitment to confidentiality and safeguarding.
- Flexibility to work on a casual, as-required basis.
- Ability to maintain accurate vehicle and user records.
- Competence in carrying out routine vehicle checks and basic maintenance inspections.
- Willingness to undertake training and professional development.

- Current Local Authority Minibus Certificate.
- MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) qualification.
