Due to the current placeholder taking on another role within the Academy, we are seeking a talented, inspirational and experienced Head of English to lead the English Department, who is dedicated to mentoring our enthusiastic and high performing team. You will play a significant role in shaping the department to ensure literature and language flourish at every stage of our students' lives. We can offer you the opportunity to deliver an ambitious curriculum where we prioritise literacy (Ofsted report 2023) and where our dedicated English department achieves exceptional outcomes from all year groups. We have developed a strong culture of collaboration and a vision of excellence, so that our students are able to excel as both writers and linguists. There is also an opportunity to take on some Assistant Headteacher duties.
Responsibilities:
- Progress the English department to even greater success
- Oversee and shape the English curriculum's delivery
- Lead and mentor your team, enhancing their teaching practice with innovative methods and ensuring they have a clear vision
- Manage the allocation of resources and budgets
