The Birds Nest, Brixton is looking for a reliable, switched‑on Bartender to join our small front‑of‑house team. This is a hands‑on bartender role. Previous cocktail‑making experience is essential. You will also support the floor when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare cocktails, wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee and smoothies to spec.
  • Make cocktails accurately, consistently and confidently.
  • Follow house specs, measures and presentation standards.
  • Keep the bar clean, stocked and organised throughout service.
  • Polish and manage glassware.
  • Prepare garnishes and basic bar prep.
  • Restock fridges, shelves and service areas.
  • Communicate clearly when stock is low, drinks are delayed or support is needed.
  • Support the floor by running drinks and food when required.
  • Clear, reset and help maintain tables when the team needs support.
  • Follow health, safety and licensing standards.
  • Help protect the warm, controlled and restaurant‑led atmosphere of the venue.

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous cocktail‑making experience is essential.
  • Confident making classic cocktails and following house specs.
  • Comfortable working a busy bar service.
  • Reliable, punctual and professional.
  • Available to work regular evenings and weekends (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays).
  • Clean, tidy and organised in the way you work.
  • Calm and focused during busy periods.
  • Willing to learn our drinks list, wine, beer, coffee, smoothies and service standards.
  • Comfortable taking direction from senior team members.
  • Confident helping on the floor when needed.
  • A clear communicator with the bar, floor and kitchen team.
  • Team‑first, with no “that’s not my job” attitude.

Availability

Evening and weekend availability is essential. Applicants must be able to work regular evenings, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays as required.
