On arguably the grandest street in Bath, Great Pulteney Street sits Dukes. Two Georgian townhouses, 17 individually designed rooms and suites, and a bar that knows its way around a cocktail. It's the kind of place that makes you feel like you've stepped into another era, just with considerably better bedding. Dukes is intimate by design. A cooked-to-order breakfast, a walled garden, a lounge fireplace, and a team that guests talk about as much as the rooms. Small but seriously good.

What's it like to work here? Exactly what you'd hope: warm, personal, and never two days the same. Being part of a small team means you matter; you're not a cog; you're the whole machine. We're big-hearted, genuinely inclusive, and we take real pride in making guests feel something. We're unconventional in the best way. Whether this is your first step into hospitality or your career of choice, you'll find a team that backs you to be exactly who you are and has a bloody good time doing it.

As Receptionist what you’ll be doing:

  • Working a variety of weekend and week day shifts you will be the personality our guests experience on arrival and departure
  • Full time 40 hours per 5 out of 7 days per week or part time role - 3 days, 24 hours per week
  • Take care of the finer detail with check ins, check outs, preparing bills and taking payments
  • Show our guests we care throughout their stay by answering queries and resolving issues
  • Show off your knowledge of our hotel and all it has to offer so you can help our guests and perhaps offer a little upsell too
  • Take care of the admin – When you’re not face to face with our guests you’ll be on the phone, emails or doing other computer-based work

What happens next with your Receptionist application? Attract our attention with your application and we’ll call you. After we speak on the phone you can expect a friendly invite to spend an hour or two on a Team Insight with your chosen department – Ask all your questions and we will ask you a few too. If all goes well, you may just become part of the team!
