Responsibilities

As a Senior Marketing Executive at The Biodiversity Consultancy, you will play a proactive role in executing our marketing and communications to help deliver the through core pillars of our strategy.

Cultural ignition – help our colleagues know and understand what our brand means for them, how to act and have the necessary tools to deliver consistency.

Demand generation – build a pipeline of leads and prospects and enable nurture strategies that that convert leads to client opportunities.

Lead management – implement appropriate dashboards, trackers and reports that enable the business to track, plan and manage our pipeline an evaluate performance against our key performance metrics.

You will work closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager and the Marketing Director to deliver impactful campaigns and materials that resonate with our target audiences, enhance the number of leads generated, deliver KPI’s and reflect key developments in biodiversity and nature sustainability.

  • Content Development: Create and edit thought-leadership materials, including white papers, articles, briefing notes, and project case studies, tailored to meet the needs of diverse audiences, align to our tone of voice and support our lead nurture and website strategies.
  • Sales Aids & Collateral Creation: Develop client facing materials such as brochures, company profiles, and proposals, ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations that consistently represent and evidence our brand positioning and enhance our lead conversion and proposal win rates.
  • Digital Marketing & Website Optimisation: Review and manage website client experience to enhance the flow of traffic and conversion to enquiry. Manage updates via the CMS, optimise content and user journeys for SEO using tools like SEMRush/SE Ranking, and monitor performance using Google Analytics for continuous improvement to deliver our search ranking targets.
  • Social Media Strategy: Develop and implement social media plans, create content calendars, and design engaging posts to enhance our online presence and increase stakeholder engagement and the number of target audience followers.
  • Visual and Presentation Design: Create visual assets, such as infographics, slide decks, and data visualisations, collaborating with external suppliers for more complex design requirements to accurately depict our brand.
  • Internal Communications: Support internal communications by creating consistent templates, presentations, and updates that resonate with and engage internal stakeholders and help them to understand what our brand means for them and how to act.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Track and analyse the performance of social media and web content, providing actionable insights to stakeholders that enable the business to make data driven decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Project Management: Take ownership of selected internal marketing projects, ensuring timely and flawlessly delivery and clear communication with stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external suppliers, and key partners. Collaborate closely with consultants and leadership to ensure marketing activities align with the organisation’s goals and priorities.

Essential skills and experience

  • Proficiency in SEO, using tools like SEMRush/SE Ranking, with experience in website optimisation and content management systems (CMS).
  • Strong ability to track and analyse performance using Google Analytics, providing actionable insights for ongoing improvement.
  • Skilled in B2B copywriting and defining and managing social media plans, content calendars, and engaging posts.
  • Experience in developing branding materials (e.g., brochures, proposals) and creating visual content (e.g., infographics, slide decks). Proficiency in design software (Illustrator/Photoshop) is a plus.
  • Experience working in a team and the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in planning and implementing multiple projects simultaneously
  • 3-5 years' experience in marketing, website optimisation and content and communications within a consulting firm or B2B agency.

Desirable attributes

  • Degree in Marketing, Branding, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience in science communications or a relevant environmental or business sustainability field.
  • Customer- and commercially minded, with experience in business development being an advantage.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to tackle challenges and drive results.
