Job Title: Workshop Manager

Vehicle: A van will be provided by Binn Group for business use.
Salary/Hourly Rate: Competitive (Dependant on experience)

Binn Group invested in a newly constructed workshop as part of our strategic growth plan. We are looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our team.

Mechanic: Key Responsibilities
As a Workshop Manager you will ensure a smooth running of the workshop and be responsible for maximising productivity and minimising vehicle and plant down time, whilst maintaining ISO systems and health & safety practices.
You will mentor, develop and encourage everyone in your team to perform at their best every day for the business whilst leading by example.

Mechanic: Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance with the requirements of a safe working environment following the H&S policy and applying safe working principles.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and internal systems.
  • Carry out and manage cost effective major and minor mechanical repairs to Group fleet.
  • Preparation for MOT and services.
  • Carry out and manage the maintenance and repairs of static and mobile plant.
  • Ensure that all materials/parts are ordered and at hand to support timely repairs.
  • To deal with any disciplinary/grievance matters in line with Company procedures and in conjunction with HR.
  • Contribute towards the continuous improvement of processes/methods and operating practices within the department.
  • Allocating work to the team within the Workshop.
  • Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day control of the workshop

The Ideal Candidate….

  • Strong leadership and management qualities with experience of running a successful workshop.
  • HGV Licence is desirable.
  • Experience of working with HGVs is essential to the role.
  • Previous experience of the waste management sector is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Internal customer service focus.
  • A Full UK driving licence is essential to the role.
