The Billericay Medical Practice has an exciting opportunity for a medical secretary to join our busy practice support team, on a part-time basis for 28 hours a week, Tuesday to Friday. The role involves providing general secretarial support to the practice manager, doctors, and health professionals, including word processing and audio typing, along with general clerical work.
The main responsibilities include:
- Providing efficient copy typing and word processing services for GPs and health professionals.
- Assisting the practice manager with clerical and administrative duties.
- Making appointments, bookings, and admissions.
- Establishing and maintaining filing and administrative systems for easy and secure access to information.
- Retrieving medical records and assisting with medical/insurance records and PPA claims.
- Filing patient records and correspondence.
- Managing incoming and outgoing telephone calls.
- Maintaining the computer clinic system securely and accurately.
- Gathering statistics and information as required.
- Providing cover for secretarial team members during sickness and leave.
- Maintaining office stationery supplies.
- Assisting in summarising patient medical records.
