At The Big Phone Store, we’re looking for a passionate and hands‑on Lead Developer to guide our growing tech team and help take our platform to the next level.

We’re a fast‑growing, independent UK business leading the charge in sustainable tech.

Over the past three years, we’ve scaled significantly, becoming one of the most trusted names in the refurbished mobile phone and tech market.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a small but growing team of developers (currently 3–4)
  • Take full technical ownership of our full‑stack projects (front‑end & back‑end)
  • Set and uphold code standards, architecture, and workflows
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across product, operations, and leadership, confidently articulating technical direction
  • Work on projects that directly support our sustainability mission
  • Help grow and structure the developer team as the company scales
  • Stay hands‑on with coding.

Tech Stack

Backend:

  • Laravel
  • PHP
    7.4 (moving toward PHP 8)
  • MySQL

Frontend:

  • Tailwind CSS
