Are you passionate about mental health and wellbeing? Do you want to support individuals facing mental health challenges, especially those facing barriers to accessing services? Can you manage and prioritise a demanding workload while providing excellent mental health support? You will have the opportunity to work as part of the NHS Talking Therapies for Anxiety and Depression (The Big Life Group) team within Manchester.
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours a week in line with service requirements and agile working arrangements. This role can be based anywhere across the UK, however travel will be required to our offices in Manchester, Rochdale, Stockport or Eastern Cheshire as well as travel to a university establishment.
Main duties of the job:- Manage a caseload of clients.
- Deliver a range of evidence-based one-to-one, group and online interventions.
- Complete assessments.
- Support events within the community.
- Promote the service, and where necessary generate referrals.

Job responsibilities:- Use a range of evidence-based tools and techniques for assessments, goals, and motivating clients.
- Manage a high-volume low intensity caseload of clients via face to face, telephone, video, group & online work.
- Work with groups of clients to help them achieve their goals.
- Collate and analyse performance data as necessary.
- Develop effective relationships with a range of external organisations and agencies.
- Promote the service to communities and agencies as appropriate.
- Keep accurate and up to date records of client records in line with service policy.
- Ensure quality standards are adhered to and met and that audits are passed.
- Ensure all statutory responsibilities are followed and reported as required.
- Attend and complete a one-year academic course and meet associated targets.
Skills:
- Ability to use a database/ability to learn how to use a database.
- Ability to assist clients to help them define and achieve their goals and aspirations.
- Ability to manage a varied and complex workload effectively.
- Ability to work well across a range of different subject areas such as housing, mental health, education and debt management.
Experience:
- Experience of working with people facing a range of mental health difficulties, barriers and social issues.
- Experience of managing a caseload of clients and keeping up to date records using a database.
- Experience of working with individuals (1-2-1), in groups and/or online in different settings to help them achieve their goals.
- Experience of working with a range of agencies and organisations to develop effective working relationships.
- Experience in one or more of the following fields: mental health, family support, physical health, smoking cessation, diet and exercise, employment, social inclusion or debt management.
Qualifications:
- We can offer 3 routes to completing the trainee PWP course. The university & service you are offered may be dependent on the route you are eligible to apply for.
- We can offer the level 7 pathway which is for those who hold a degree (2:2 or above).
- We offer the level 6 pathway for those who hold relevant level 5 qualifications and have 2 years relevant experience in a mental health setting.
- Finally, we are able to offer the apprenticeship pathway for those who do not hold a degree or level 5 qualification but do hold a Maths & English GCSE (C or above) and have 2 years relevant experience in a mental health setting.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the barriers and issues facing our client group.
- Knowledge of the local area your service is based in (community groups, services available as well as local demographics).
- Knowledge and understanding of equal opportunities.
Personal:
- Positive outlook and a can-do attitude.
- Personal resilience and flexible attitude in the face of difficulties.
- Ability to work flexibly (including evening and/or weekend work).
- Commitment to working towards the Big Life group's ethos and values, including having a non-judgemental approach.
