This is a hands-on planning role where you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the daily movements of our fleet. You’ll be working closely with drivers, customers, and the internal team to ensure work is completed efficiently, profitably, and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and allocate work across a fleet of ~30 trucks
- Coordinate container and ferry trailer movements across the UK
- Communicate daily with drivers regarding jobs, routes, and issues
- Monitor progress of deliveries and resolve problems in real time
- Liaise with customers and maintain strong working relationships
- Ensure efficient route planning to maximise vehicle utilisation
- Work with transport systems (e.g. Mandata) to manage jobs and records
What We’re Looking For
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Confident communicator with both drivers and customers
- Good understanding of UK road network and driver hours
- Experience in container haulage is preferred but not essential
Salary & Benefits
- £32,000 – £40,000 per year (depending on experience)
- After training: 1 day per week working from home
- Supportive, family-run working environment
- Opportunity to grow with the business
- Monday to Friday (standard working week)
On-call rota: You will be required to handle out-of-hours queries, driver issues, and operational support as part of the planning team rota.
