The Best Connection Chesterfield is recruiting experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers for a leading logistics company based in Worksop. We're looking for reliable and professional drivers to join the evening and night shift operation, working on a regular rota. With excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and the potential for a permanent position, this is a fantastic opportunity for experienced HGV drivers looking for ongoing work.
Pay Rates:
- £21.58 per hour between 02:00 and 06:00
- £18.04 - £18.38 per hour outside of these hours
Shift Pattern:
- Sunday to Thursday is preferred
- Start times between 15:00 and 22:00
- Ongoing night work
- Depot-to-depot trunking and occasional store deliveries
- Minimal handball involved, if any
The Role:
- Completing depot-to-depot trunking runs and store deliveries
- Following daily transport schedules and delivery plans
- Conducting daily vehicle safety and compliance checks
- Ensuring all driving is carried out safely and in line with UK transport legislation
- Maintaining accurate paperwork and delivery records
- Communicating effectively with the transport team regarding delays or operational issues
What We're Looking For:
- Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence
- Current Driver CPC Qualification
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Minimum 2 years' Class 1 driving experience
- Excellent timekeeping and communication skills
- A professional and safety-focused approach to work
