Warehouse & Yard Operative - Witney
The Best Connection Oxford are currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse & Yard Operative to join our well-established client based in Witney.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with warehouse, yard or FLT experience looking for a stable daytime role with the potential to become permanent following a successful 12-week temporary period.
Pay & Hours
- £12.90 per hour PAYE
- Start times between 06:00 and 18:00
- Daytime working hours
- Monday to Friday
- Ongoing work with temp-to-perm opportunity
- Immediate start available
The Role
Working as part of a busy warehouse and yard team, your responsibilities will include:
- Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently
- Assisting with deliveries at the branch
- Receiving and storing goods in the correct warehouse and yard locations
- Preparing customer orders accurately
- Signing for incoming deliveries
- Carrying out regular stock checks and maintaining accurate stock records
- Reporting damaged or broken stock
- Operating FLT and other mechanical handling equipment safely
- Completing daily equipment checks
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe warehouse and yard
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous warehouse or yard experience
- FLT experience or a valid FLT licence
- Experience working with multi-drop deliveries or pallet networks would be advantageous
- Good physical fitness, as the role can involve manual handling
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic IT and data-entry skills
- Good numeracy skills
- A reliable, punctual and professional approach to work
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
