We are seeking a Weighbridge Operative who will also have administration responsibilities on a day-to-day basis. The Weighbridge Operative will come from a waste management or recycling background to cover a maternity leave position. This is a highly customer-facing role and an integral part of the business, requiring confidence, professionalism, and a firm approach when needed.
The role:
- Operate the weighbridge accurately, ensuring all weights and documentation are correctly recorded
- Act as the main point of contact for customers, dealing confidently and professionally face-to-face and by phone
- Process customer orders and complete all associated administration accurately
- Manage customer queries, disputes, and complaints, using an assertive and professional manner where required
- Promote company services while ensuring compliance with waste management procedures
- Prepare and manage invoices
- Provide administrative support to the logistics team and management
- Maintain a professional and organised office environment
The candidate:
- Proven experience in waste management and weighbridge operations (essential)
- Strong customer-facing experience with a confident and assertive communication style
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient IT skills, including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 08:00am - 17:00pm, 1 in 4 Saturdays - half day, 42.5 hours per week
Pay Rate: £12.50 per hour
