We are currently recruiting experienced Class 1 (C+E) Drivers for regular weekend work operating from a major retail distribution centre in Aylesford, Kent.
We have consistent work available across Friday to Monday, with a variety of start times covering mornings, afternoons and evenings. Drivers who can commit to the full Friday-Monday working pattern may be offered guaranteed shifts.
Hours & Pay Rates
- AM Shift (06:00 - 17:59) - £19.10 per hour
- PM Shift (18:00 - 21:59) - £22.35 per hour
- Night Shift (22:00 - 05:59) - £23.35 per hour
Minimum guaranteed 8 hours per shift. Regular ongoing weekend work available. Ad hoc Saturday and Sunday shifts available for drivers looking for extra work.
The Role
- Store deliveries throughout the South East.
- Deliveries may be completed using either Class 1 or Class 2 vehicles.
- Drivers required to be flexible to operate both vehicle types when necessary.
- Class 1 rate of pay applies even when completing Class 2 work.
- Caged deliveries.
- Trailer swaps involving both articulated and rigid trailers.
- Either one long run or two runs per shift.
- London driving is required and is non-negotiable.
- Furthest delivery points typically include Milton Keynes and Eastbourne.
Shift Start Times
- Typical start windows include: 04:00 - 07:00, 10:30 - 16:00, 16:15 - 20:00
Delivery Information
- Class 1 Deliveries: Vehicles are unloaded whilst on the loading bay. No manual unloading of cages required.
- Class 2 Deliveries: Manual handling is required when unloading cages at stores. Drivers will still receive the Class 1 hourly rate when undertaking Class 2 work.
Driver Requirements
- Applicants must hold a valid Class 1 (C+E) licence.
- Have held their C+E licence for a minimum of 2 years.
- Have recent Class 1 driving experience.
- Hold a valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Hold a valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Have no more than 6 penalty points.
- Not be driving under a Section 88 entitlement.
- Wear Hi-Vis clothing and safety boots when attending site.
- Be willing to undertake London deliveries.
- Have a good understanding of Driver Hours and Working Time regulations.
- Supermarket delivery experience is preferred but not essential.
If you have penalty points that are not SP endorsement codes, please advise us before assessment so they can be reviewed in advance.
Training Schedule
- Day 1 Training: Conducted Monday to Thursday.
- Day 2 Training: Usually completed on Friday.
