Our client, a well known logistics business in the heart of the Letchworth Garden City Industrial Estate is currently recruiting for Yard Operative to assist in running its operation. The Yard Operative is responsible for managing the safe and efficient movement of vehicles within the yard while maintaining control of the site gate.
Key duties include:
- Directing incoming and outgoing vehicles
- Monitoring site access
- Checking vehicle documentation
- Ensuring all vehicle movements comply with company health and safety procedures
- Coordinating with drivers, warehouse staff, and transport teams to minimise delays
- Maintaining yard organisation
- Ensuring the safe flow of traffic
- Conducting basic vehicle and yard checks
- Reporting hazards
- Keeping the yard clean, secure, and operational at all times
