The Best Connection are proud to be working alongside our world leading client to lead their water systems engineering team. We are seeking an experienced Water Systems Engineering Manager to play their part in ensuring this world leading business is always running smoothly.
Responsibilities of this role will include but not be limited to:
- Oversee the daily operations of Main Building, Trevor Square and KCC water treatment plants, cooling towers, hot and cold water distribution systems, borehole extraction and related infrastructure.
- Lead and inspire 6 direct reports, empowering them to deliver exceptional work.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimise downtime and ensure system reliability.
- Monitor and analyse system performance data to optimise efficiency and address issues proactively.
- Ensure that all work is in line with industry best practice adhering to relevant Health and Safety Regulations, conducting regular inspections and submitting required reports.
- Develop and manage operational and capital budgets for water system projects.
- Identify and prioritise infrastructure upgrades, expansions, and replacements ensuring compliance, energy reductions and an increased resilience level are provided where possible.
- Develop and manage contracts for water system services, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Support sustainability initiatives including low-carbon objectives.
The Water Systems Engineer will need to have and demonstrate the following:
- Responsible person L8 Legionella.
- Mechanical qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ3, HNC or HND.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Supportive Manager who enjoys empowering and developing their team.
- Strong problem solver with the ability to use judgement and reasoning to identify solutions or approaches to challenges.
- Resilient, tenacious and open to personal development feedback.
- The candidate for this role will also need to demonstrate extensive water systems knowledge.
