We are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a busy and fast‑paced office environment. This is a 3‑month temporary assignment with an immediate start required, so applicants must be confident in their ability to hit the ground running from day one.
The Role
Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will support the wider team with day‑to‑day accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across both purchase and sales ledgers.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing purchase orders and purchase invoices
- Creating and managing sales orders and invoices
- Reconciling supplier and customer accounts
- Liaising with suppliers to resolve discrepancies
- Handling customer and supplier queries
- Issuing customer statements and chasing outstanding payments
- Supporting month‑end duties, including journals
- Producing reports using Excel and internal systems
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an accounts role (essential)
- Strong knowledge of purchase and sales ledger processes
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage workload independently and prioritise tasks
Desirable
- Experience using Sage 50
