The Best Connection have an exciting new opportunity available in Warrington! Our client, a well-established distribution centre of building & plumbing supplies, are looking to recruit an experienced Transport Planner.
The duties will include:
- Plan and coordinate daily transport schedules and delivery routes
- Organise vehicle runs, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods
- Improve routes to maximise efficiency, reduce costs, and minimise environmental impact
- Liaise with warehouse, customer service, and sales teams to maintain smooth operations
- Monitor performance and identify improvements using tracking systems
- Allocate workloads to warehouse staff based on daily operational needs
- Ensure compliance with transport legislation, safety standards, and internal policies
- Investigate and resolve transport issues, discrepancies, and claims
- Maintain and exceed agreed KPIs
- Support delivery of a reliable next-day service nationwide
Essential criteria:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Transport Planning
- Strong IT skills and data analysis capability
- Good geographic knowledge
- Working 10 hour shifts between 05:30 - 18:00, Monday to Friday.
