The Best Connection have an exciting new opportunity available in Warrington! Our client, a well-established distribution centre of building & plumbing supplies, are looking to recruit an experienced Transport Planner.

The duties will include:

  • Plan and coordinate daily transport schedules and delivery routes
  • Organise vehicle runs, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods
  • Improve routes to maximise efficiency, reduce costs, and minimise environmental impact
  • Liaise with warehouse, customer service, and sales teams to maintain smooth operations
  • Monitor performance and identify improvements using tracking systems
  • Allocate workloads to warehouse staff based on daily operational needs
  • Ensure compliance with transport legislation, safety standards, and internal policies
  • Investigate and resolve transport issues, discrepancies, and claims
  • Maintain and exceed agreed KPIs
  • Support delivery of a reliable next-day service nationwide

Essential criteria:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Transport Planning
  • Strong IT skills and data analysis capability
  • Good geographic knowledge
  • Working 10 hour shifts between 05:30 - 18:00, Monday to Friday.
