The Best Connection have exciting new opportunities available in Warrington! Due to a huge increase in work, our client, a leading producer of flat-rolled aluminium products and the world's largest recycler of aluminium, is looking to recruit and add a number of experienced Process Operators to their dedicated & committed team.
The ideal candidate will be working as part of a team in a busy production facility, and the main responsibilities will include:
- Operation of plant and equipment to recycle scrap aluminium into sheet ingot, where main duties include driving forklift trucks, working with overhead cranes and scrap and molten aluminium.
- Assembling and weighing scrap mixes for charges; charging scrap to furnaces; metal sampling, analysis and compositional control; furnace cleaning; molten metal transfer; molten metal casting; ingot movement / identification; quality checks.
- Unloading scrap from vehicles; scrap quality checks; assembling scrap mixes; feeding the shredder; molten metal sampling, analysis and compositional control; furnace cleaning; molten metal transfer; molten metal casting; ingot movement / identification; quality checks; ingot despatch.
Working within either of the two foundries, the role will include basic maintenance work along with operating the following equipment:
- Fork Lift Trucks from 3t - 16t.
- JCB bucket.
- Heavy duty articulated machines.
- Overhead cranes up to 43t lifting capacity.
- Shredder.
- A variety of conveying equipment.
- An ingot saw.
- 5 fume treatment plants.
- 7 melting furnaces.
- 3 holding furnaces.
- 2 preheating furnaces.
Due to the nature of the role, there will be different physical requirements in all areas of the plant, in the Melt and DC areas where the operators will be required to work in close proximity to molten aluminium at approximately 725°C.
The working hours are on a 4on 4off shift pattern and will consist of 2 days (0640 - 1840) & 2 nights (1840 - 0640). Full on the job training & MHE training is provided for the role. An immediate start is available after successful interview.
