The Best Connection are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established client based in the Wallington area. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer looking for stable, full-time work within a supportive and technical environment.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday
- 8:30am - 5:30pm
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Pay Rate: £12.50 per hour and above, dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Hand placement of surface mount devices (SMD), including small components down to 0402 size
- Reworking SMD and through-hole PCBs by hand
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs using schematics
- Hand soldering of surface-mount and through-hole components
- Testing products using standard test equipment, including multimeters and oscilloscopes
- Programming and testing products (full training will be provided where required)
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience working in an engineering or electronics-based role
- Strong experience with SMD placement and rework
- Confident fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to read and understand schematics
- A methodical approach with strong attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
