We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client in Wallingford for a friendly, organised, and professional School Receptionist to join a busy school office team on a temporary basis in Wallingford.
As the first point of contact for pupils, parents, visitors, and staff in Wallingford, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school's reception and administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming visitors and providing a professional front-of-house service
- Answering telephone calls promptly and courteously, taking and relaying messages as required
- Managing face-to-face, telephone, and email enquiries efficiently
- Preparing meeting rooms and arranging refreshments for visitors when required
- Ensuring all visitors are appropriately authorised and issued with security badges
- Opening, distributing, and responding to incoming mail and emails
- Communicating information to parents and carers via letters, emails, and other appropriate methods
- Maintaining accurate records relating to pupil medication and consent forms
- Ensuring all necessary documentation is in place for administering medication on site
- Contacting parents/carers regarding unwell pupils
- Monitoring and maintaining attendance records using Integris
- Collating daily school meal numbers and providing information to the kitchen via Bromcom
- Recording late arrivals and early departures, ensuring attendance records remain accurate
- Carrying out first-day absence procedures and escalating concerns where necessary
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure reception cover is maintained during core hours
About You
- Previous reception, administration, or customer service experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office and school systems (training provided)
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Able to work in a busy environment and manage multiple tasks
- Professional, discreet, and able to maintain confidentiality
Requirements
- DBS certificate desirable (or willingness to obtain one)
- School experience advantageous but not essential
