The Best Connection is currently recruiting for a Yard Operative / Forklift Driver to join a busy and well-established site based in Usk. This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate, offering consistent full-time hours and the chance to secure a permanent position following a successful trial period. This role would suit someone with previous forklift and yard experience who is looking for long-term stability within a supportive and fast-paced working environment. This is a hands-on role working as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of daily operations.
Duties:
- Operating 2.5 tonne and 8 tonne counterbalance forklifts
- Loading and unloading lorries
- Moving materials safely around the yard
- Cleaning and preparing equipment ready for use
- Storing materials correctly and maintaining yard organisation
- Assisting with stock control and general yard duties
- Carrying out basic checks on forklift equipment and reporting faults
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Requirements:
- Valid counterbalance forklift licence
- Previous experience in a similar yard or warehouse environment
- Good understanding of health and safety
- Reliable and hardworking
- Ability to work as part of a team
£12.71 per hour Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:30. This is an ongoing role with consistent hours and the opportunity to secure a permanent contract for the right candidate.
