We are currently recruiting for a Passenger Assistant to work on a mini-bus providing school transport for SEND children. You will be picked up from your home if you live local to Sittingbourne. Please be aware that the role will be a split shift (AM/PM). This is a rewarding role suited to someone reliable, patient, and confident communicating with both children and parents.
Hours and Pay:
- 18 paid hours per week
- Monday to Friday (Friday morning shift only)
- Morning shift: 07:30 - 09:30 (average)
- Afternoon shift: 14:30 - 16:30 (average)
- Paid 4 hours per day, except Friday (2 hours paid)
- £12.21 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting SEN children during school transport
- Assisting children safely on and off the mini-bus
- Communicating with parents and school staff
- Managing challenging behaviour calmly and professionally
- Ensuring children feel safe and supported during their journey
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS (Can be arranged)
- KCC badge required (can be arranged)
- Ideally living in the Sittingbourne area
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with managing challenging behaviour
- First Aid training desirable (training can be provided)
Additional Information:
- No PPE required
- Dress code: trousers (fleece, umbrella, and polo provided)
- No medication administration (may assist with pumps and EpiPens only)
- Passenger Assistant will be introduced to the children prior to starting for a smooth transition
- Picked up from home if you live local to Sittingbourne
