The Best Connection is proud to be recruiting for a Van Driver on behalf of a global leader in products and services that support patient care, with a particular focus on infection prevention. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced driver looking for meaningful, full-time ongoing work.
The Role
- You will work any 5 days out of 7 each week, delivering and collecting surgical instruments to and from hospitals on a 24/7 operation.
- Shift pattern:
- Mornings: 05:30 - 13:30
- Afternoons: 13:30 - 21:30
As a Van Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of surgical instruments and related items between site facilities and customer hospitals. You will act as a key point of contact for customers and ensure all transport and safety regulations are met.
Role Overview
- Transportation & Delivery
- Drive a company van to transport surgical instruments to and from customer locations
- Meet specific delivery schedules and time-sensitive routes
- Safely load and unload items from the vehicle
- Move items to designated areas (this may involve lifting and pushing instrument carts)
- Maintain accurate mileage logs, delivery records and inventory counts
- Conduct daily vehicle checks
- Ensure the vehicle remains clean, roadworthy and compliant with the Transport Act 1968 and company policies
- Assist with organising planned preventative maintenance (servicing)
- Accident Reporting: Report any traffic accidents involving a company vehicle immediately to the insurer and line manager
- Provide professional and friendly service at each hospital
- Act as a key representative of the company
Requirements
- Good general standard of education with demonstrable verbal and numerical ability
- Full UK driving licence (maximum 3 penalty points)
- Minimum 2 years' driving experience on UK roads
- Strong customer service skills
- Reliable and professional approach
