Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00
The Best Connection are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Panel Builder to join a well-established and growing team. This is a hands-on senior-level role that goes beyond panel assembly and wiring. The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise, be confident working independently from electrical drawings and schematics, and provide valuable support and guidance to installation teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and wire electrical control panels in line with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Accurately read, interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of electrical components, control circuits and wiring requirements.
- Test completed panels to ensure correct wiring, functionality and compliance with specifications.
- Carry out fault finding and diagnostics, identifying and resolving wiring and build issues.
- Identify and communicate discrepancies between drawings and physical builds.
- Liaise with the Engineering team to resolve technical queries and drawing amendments.
- Provide technical support and guidance to on-site installers.
- Mentor and support junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality, and electrical safety at all times.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in electrical control panel building and wiring.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent fault-finding, testing and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently on complex panel builds.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Previous experience supporting, guiding or mentoring installers or junior staff.
- Relevant electrical qualification or apprenticeship would be advantageous.
