The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Production Manager on a permanent basis for our busy client in West Thurrock. We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead operations in our client's busy manufacturing facility. You'll be responsible for ensuring a safe work environment, meeting production targets, and driving continuous improvement across the workshop. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, process-driven environment.
Hours and Salary: The standard hours are 08:00 - 16:30 Monday to Friday, the depot is open from 06:00 - 17:00 so some flexibility may be required. Salary for this position is £45,000 per annum, with bonus and overtime also available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production & Planning
- Translate monthly, weekly, and daily logistics plans into an efficient production schedule.
- Deliver daily production targets while maximising use of resources.
- Monitor and report performance against KPIs and targets.
- Lead daily planning and review meetings with workshop staff.
- Identify areas for improvement and reduce waste using Lean tools.
- Set up and implement standard operating procedures across operations.
- Share and implement best practices across multiple sites.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all operations.
- Manage health, safety, environmental and quality (SHEQ) compliance.
- Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe practices.
- Ensure full adherence to company environmental and safety policies.
- Lead, coach and develop the production team to achieve peak performance.
- Conduct staff reviews, set goals and manage development plans.
- Manage recruitment including interviews and onboarding.
- Handle HR issues such as absence, capability, and disciplinary actions.
- Track attendance, overtime, holidays and ensure accurate payroll reporting.
- Build a team culture focused on collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
