The Role

In this position, you will carry out a range of welding and fabrication duties, producing components to precise engineering standards. You will work from technical drawings, prepare materials, and ensure all finished work meets strict quality expectations. You will also be expected to maintain a safe and organised work environment while supporting continuous improvement within the fabrication team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on a variety of materials including mild steel and stainless steel
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and job instructions accurately
  • Prepare materials for fabrication, including cutting, grinding, cleaning and component fitting
  • Assemble and weld parts to required tolerances and specifications
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards
  • Use hand tools and measuring equipment with precision
  • Operate fabrication machinery safely and effectively
  • Identify and report any defects, material issues or production concerns
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working area
  • Follow all company health and safety procedures, including correct use of PPE
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist team members as needed
  • Work to production targets while maintaining high-quality output
