The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring laser cutting machinery to ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently. You will work from engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring all components are manufactured accurately and to the required standards. You will also play an active role in maintaining a safe, organized working environment and supporting ongoing improvements across production processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and oversee laser cutting machines in line with production schedules
- Safely load and unload raw materials and finished components
- Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings, job instructions, and specifications
- Carry out machine setups, including tooling changes and adjustments as required
- Conduct regular in-process inspections using measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers, and gauges
- Ensure all products meet both company and customer quality expectations
- Monitor machine performance and address any issues affecting efficiency or output
- Complete production documentation and records accurately
- Perform routine maintenance and basic preventative upkeep on machinery
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensuring work areas are clean and organized
- Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies at all times
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production targets
