HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers - Temp to Perm

LOCATION (Wellingborough)

£18.00 per hour £20.00 per hour after 48 hours

The Best Connection are currently recruiting for HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers with our global logistics and supply chain company that operates both freight management and contract logistics. This is an ongoing opportunity with excellent earning potential and long‑term prospects.

About the Role

HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers - Main duties and requirements are:

• Typical start times will be 04:00 - 06:00, leaning more toward 04:00.
• Shift lengths average 10 - 12 hours.
• Double manning on occasion.
• Deliveries made with tail lift where drivers deliver & collect equal amount, shuffling of the load required.
• Deliveries to sites with side tipping.
• Deliveries to NDCs.
• Occasional class 2 work.
• Deliveries to sites with restricted access, experience is preferred.
• Drivers required to comply with GXO training & regulations.
• 2 - 3 drops a day.
• CNG vehicles, gassing / refuel must be done off site.

Working Hours

• Minimum 8‑hour shifts.
• Days and nights available.
• Monday - Friday.

Pay

• £18.00 per hour £20.00 per hour after 48 hours.

What We're Looking For

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence.
• Commitment to shifts/rotas.
• Ability to work safely alone.
• Time management and punctuality.
• A good understanding of UK drivers' hours.
