Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Vertical Boring Milling (VBM / Tracer) Operator. Unlike high-volume production environments, no two jobs are the same. This role offers varied and interesting work, machining bespoke components and engineering solutions for specialist customer requirements. This is a hands-on role suited to an individual who can confidently interpret engineering drawings, set and operate machinery, and machine components to high standards within a skilled engineering environment.

Key Skills & Requirements

  • Proven experience operating Vertical Boring Milling (VBM / Tracer) machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately
  • Experience within a bespoke, jobbing, or low-volume engineering environment preferred
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and precision standards
  • Experience machining a range of materials and large-scale components
  • Ability to carry out machine set-up, tooling changes, and adjustments to specification
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Flexible, reliable, and team-oriented approach
