The Best Connection is currently recruiting for a Forklift Yard Operative on behalf of our client based in Maidstone. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hardworking individual seeking ongoing work with the potential to secure a permanent position.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday
  • 08:00 - 17:00

Pay Rate

  • £13.50 per hour

Start Date

  • Available 8th June.

The Role

Working within a busy timber yard, your duties will include:

  • Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently
  • Loading and unloading vehicles
  • Moving stock around the yard and warehouse
  • Picking and preparing customer orders
  • Assisting with goods-in and goods-out processes
  • Manual handling and lifting of timber products and materials
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment

Please note that this role is approximately 50% forklift operation and 50% manual handling duties.

Requirements

  • Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential)
  • Previous experience operating a Counterbalance Forklift in a busy working environment
  • Comfortable carrying out manual lifting and physical yard duties
  • Good awareness of health and safety procedures
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
  • Must have own transport due to location

Desirable

  • Previous experience working with timber products or within a builders' merchant, timber yard, or similar environment
  • Knowledge of timber grades and products would be advantageous
