The Best Connection is currently recruiting for a Forklift Yard Operative on behalf of our client based in Maidstone. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hardworking individual seeking ongoing work with the potential to secure a permanent position.

Pay Rate
- £13.50 per hour

- Available 8th June.
The Role
Working within a busy timber yard, your duties will include:
- Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently
- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Moving stock around the yard and warehouse
- Picking and preparing customer orders
- Assisting with goods-in and goods-out processes
- Manual handling and lifting of timber products and materials
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
Please note that this role is approximately 50% forklift operation and 50% manual handling duties.
Requirements
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential)
- Previous experience operating a Counterbalance Forklift in a busy working environment
- Comfortable carrying out manual lifting and physical yard duties
- Good awareness of health and safety procedures
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
- Must have own transport due to location
Desirable
- Previous experience working with timber products or within a builders' merchant, timber yard, or similar environment
- Knowledge of timber grades and products would be advantageous
