The Best Connection are working in partnership with our bespoke client based in Chiswick, West London to recruit an Upholstery Hand Sewer to join their renowned bespoke upholstery business. We are seeking a skilled an experienced Upholstery Hand Sewer to undertake this job role on a temp to perm basis. Responsibilities of the Upholstery Hand Sewer · Execute precise hand-sewing techniques, including slip stitching, blind stitching, and ladder stitching on finished upholstery pieces. · Close outside backs, arms, and cushions on a variety of furniture styles, ensuring seams are tight, straight, and virtually invisible. · Apply finishing details such as braids, fringes, piping, etc. · Work confidently with a wide range of materials, including silks, velvet's, heavy linens, and top-grain leathers. · Inspect pieces for quality assurance before they leave the workshop. · Repair or restore delicate fabrics on antique pieces where machine sewing is not viable. · Must be commutable in using curved needles.
