The Role
As an Electrical Fit-Out Assistant, you will be responsible for assembling and testing electrical systems to ensure products meet the highest quality standards.
Key duties include:
Installing wire looms, connectors, sensors and onboard electrical systems.
Stripping, soldering, crimping and heat-shrinking wiring terminations to specification.
Following manufacturing orders and wiring diagrams accurately.
Carrying out quality control checks, continuity testing and functional testing of components.
Identifying and reporting defects or non-conformances.
Working efficiently to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
What We're Looking For
Excellent manual dexterity and steady hands for precision electrical assembly work.
High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to follow wiring diagrams and detailed manufacturing instructions.
Experience carrying out electrical testing and accurately recording results.
Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Reliable, punctual and able to work at a bench for extended periods.
Able to commute to Hereford or the surrounding area.
Desirable Experience
The following would be advantageous but is not essential:
Wire harness, cable assembly or electrical/electronic fit-out experience.
Background within aerospace, automotive, marine or similar technical industries.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Soldering experience to IPC/WHMA-A-620 or J-STD-001 standards, or willingness to work towards certification.
Experience using multimeters, continuity testers and other electrical testing equipment.
Knowledge of quality-managed manufacturing environments such as ISO 9001.
A qualification or apprenticeship in electrical, electronics or manufacturing disciplines.
