About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Plant Fitter to join our team in Huntingdon. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and preparing a wide range of plant machinery to ensure it operates safely and efficiently. You will work both on-site and at the depot, handling routine maintenance, major repairs, and pre-delivery inspections (PDI).
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and repair plant machinery, including excavators (up to 20 tons), dumpers (up to 10 tons), and telehandlers (up to 20 meters), along with other plant equipment.
- Perform major repairs and pre-delivery inspections (PDI) as required.
- Work on diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
- Respond to mechanical breakdowns promptly, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs.
- Follow all health and safety regulations at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a plant fitter or similar mechanical/maintenance role.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulics.
- Experience with heavy plant machinery (excavators, dumpers, telehandlers).
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve on-site and in the depot.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
