The Best Connection is currently seeking a Van Driver for our client, a leading independent Builders' Merchant, based at their Hexham branch. This is a temporary ongoing position; however, there is regular work available for the right candidate who demonstrates reliability and professionalism.
The Role:
- Delivering building materials, timber, and plumbing supplies to trade and residential sites using a 3.5t transit-style van.
- Assisting in the warehouse with loading, unloading, and serving customers when not out on deliveries.
- Conducting daily vehicle walk-around checks and maintaining accurate records.
- Acting as a professional and helpful face of the company at the point of delivery.
Shift Pattern & Pay:
- Monday to Friday: 07:30 - 17:00.
- Hourly Rate: £13.00 per hour.
Requirements:
- Valid UK Driving Licence (Category B).
- Experience in multi-drop deliveries or commercial driving is highly preferred.
- A "can-do" attitude with the physical fitness to handle heavy building materials.
- No more than 6 penalty points (for insurance purposes).
- Experience in the construction supply or merchant industry is a significant advantage.
