The Role
We are seeking an experienced
People & HR Advisor to provide hands-on HR support across the employee lifecycle, advising managers and employees while ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation and good HR practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advice and support on employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance matters.
- Manage recruitment, interviews, onboarding and probation processes.
- Maintain accurate HR records, contracts and employee documentation.
- Support absence management, wellbeing and employee engagement.
- Coordinate training, development and competency records.
- Review and maintain HR policies and ensure legislative compliance.
- Support performance management and appraisals.
- Produce key HR reports covering headcount, absence, turnover, recruitment and training.
- Provide practical HR advice and support to managers across the business.
Skills & Experience
- Strong generalist HR experience, ideally within an SME, manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Good knowledge of UK employment legislation.
- Experience handling employee relations and advising managers.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and HR systems.
- CIPD Level 5 desirable; Level 7 advantageous.
