We are recruiting for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our client's prestigious venue near Howden. This role is initially offered on a temporary basis, with a strong opportunity to become a permanent position following a successful trial period.
About the Role
As a Chef within the kitchen team, you will play an integral part in delivering an exceptional dining experience. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your skills in a professional, fast‑paced environment while working to a high culinary standard.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and document daily kitchen requirements prior to service
- Prepare and organise food preparation areas, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with COSHH and HACCP guidelines
- Support the Head Chef in developing and maintaining a strong, efficient team
- Address and resolve customer feedback and complaints promptly and professionally
- Monitor kitchen operations to ensure all sanitation standards are consistently met
- Ensure all food products are fresh, within date, and suitable for preparation
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Proven experience working in banqueting or large-scale functions
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, processes, and equipment
- Ability to follow instructions effectively and work independently when required
- Solid understanding of food preparation and presentation
- Experience maintaining and caring for kitchen utensils and equipment
- Strong communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
- A proactive mindset, with an interest in menu development and innovation
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Own transport, due to the remote location of the venue
Hours, Pay and Benefits
- Full-time position (minimum 40 hours per week)
- Temporary position with the opportunity to become permanent
- Pay rate: £12.71 - £14 per hour, depending on experience
