The Best Connection is working in partnership with a leading manufacturer and supplier of earthmoving machinery, spare parts, service, and repair solutions, based in Birtley. Due to continued growth and increased workload, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Dayshift Profile Burner to join their skilled fabrication team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and cutting specifications
- Measuring and marking materials accurately
- Operating profile burning equipment, including plasma and oxy-fuel cutting machines
- Cutting steel plate to precise tolerances
- Quality checking finished components
- General workshop duties as required
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience operating profile burning machinery
- Experience working within a heavy engineering or fabrication environment
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
Desirable:
- Valid fork truck licence and overhead crane certificate
Hours of Work:
Dayshift working Monday to Friday - Monday - Thursday: 7.30am - 4.30pm - Friday: 7.00am - 12.00pm
Pay Rates:
£15.22 per hour basic rate (PAYE) for first 40 hours
£22.83 per hour overtime rate after 40 hours
£25.37 per hour overtime rate after 45 hours
