The Best Connection Mansfield are currently recruiting for an experienced Fabricator to join a well‑established steel fabrication company based in Blidworth, Nottinghamshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a full‑time, permanent role with a growing business specialising in architectural steelwork, structural beams, staircases, handrails, balustrades, and bespoke metalwork.
We are looking for a skilled and reliable individual with strong fabrication and MIG welding experience who takes pride in producing high‑quality work.
Key Responsibilities- Fabricating steel components from engineering drawings and specifications
- Cutting, drilling, grinding, and preparing materials
- MIG welding to a high standard (TIG is an advantage but not essential)
- Assembling structural and architectural steel items including frames, platforms, staircases, etc.
- Marking out, measuring, and working within tight tolerances
- Ensuring all finished items meet quality and safety standards
- Operating workshop equipment such as saws, grinders, cranes, and forklift (training provided if needed)
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area
- Previous experience as a Fabricator/Welder in a steel environment
- Confident MIG welder with strong fabrication skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings independently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team
- TIG welding experience
- Overhead crane or FLT licence
- Experience with architectural or structural steel
- Monday to Thursday, 7am - 4.30pm
- Friday, 7am - 12pm
- £14.50ph
